Community Library Description
What can the library do for you? Homeschool families are invited to explore library resources. Enjoy a guided tour and learn about the library’s enrichment programs. Stay after the tour for a scavenger hunt, bookmark craft, and to play in the children’s exploratory area.

Moonlight Paddle
Moonlight Paddle
Friday July 11th, 2025
Launch 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Music 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Wind down, experience nature as it emerges at sunset on the evening river in early summer. This is a peaceful, no destination paddle while the night birds, wildlife on the dark river bank, and the songs of summer insects surround you. Upon your return, enjoy acoustic music under the moon’s light along with an amazing s’mores & savory treat bar and campfire. Paddlers are welcome to bring beverage of their choice to enjoy by the fire.
Reservations are required, and include canoe or kayak rental, sweet and savory buffet, campfire and live music. Space is limited.
Admission Cost: $40 members/$45 non-members.
Guests who don’t want to paddle are welcome to join the campfire, sweet & savory buffet and live music for $15.

Kids' Yoga (6-10)
Pringle Nature Center Description
Inhale the fresh air and feel the grass between your toes, yogis! Stretch, shake, and be silly in this active outdoor yoga class for ages 6-10. Registration and signed waiver required before class begins. Registration opens on Saturday, May 10 at 9:00 am. Caregivers must stay in the park during the program. In case of inclement weather, this class will be held inside of the Pringle Nature Center.
Please register all children and caregivers that will attend the session.

Book it around Bristol Woods (16+)
Pringle Nature Center Description
Get lost in a book, not the woods! Join other readers to meet both your step and book goals during this casual hike inspired by "Book it around D.C."
Bring your own audiobook and listening device.
PNC staff will meet at the nature center and lead the group in a ~2 mile, moderate-paced hike over hilly, dirt trails.

Screen Free Week Free Kid’s Yoga for ages 5-10
Riveredge Nature Center Description
This event is a fun, exercise-based yoga class for children that includes poses, breathing, and creative activities. We’ll practice with a partner, do group poses and play fun yoga games. This session is designed for kids ages 5-10, practicing yoga independently, with a parent on-site (may we suggest a hike?). Weather permitting, we will hold this session outside.

This program is offered at no cost for Washington and Ozaukee County’s Screen Free Week.

Yoga at the Library
Wauwatosa Public Library Description
Join yoga instructor Caitlin Moyer for Yoga at the Library. Each session she'll lead you through a relaxing 45 minute yoga flow.
Be sure to bring your own mat, towel, water bottle, and a friend or neighbor.

Beginner Archery Class
Archers will learn bow and arrow anatomy as well as the basic skills needed to shoot archery in a safe and controlled environment! Participants will enjoy competing against others to shoot a variety of target centers such as mosquitoes, ticks, and more!
Archers must be at least 7 years old to participate and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Homeschool Foodies
Kids ages 11-17 are invited to our Library Kitchen to learn essential cooking skills. We'll work together to decide what to cook next time, then cook a recipe together. Along the way, we'll learn kitchen safety, essential skills, and some of the science behind cooking. This is a great chance to get kids some (mostly) independent time in the kitchen and build skills and confidence.

Grades 5-12
Free. Food. The catch? You have to make it! Join us for a new recipe each month. In order to allow everyone a chance to cook, we’ll be doing the same recipe a couple times in a row to make sure everyone has a chance to try it. Space is limited to 8 people per week. Sign up opens online on Thursday mornings for Friday’s event. If you are not here by 3:30, your spot may be given to someone else who is. Foodie Friday is canceled during BASD school breaks.

Let's Make Quick & Easy Meatball Soup!
Students will learn how to quickly thaw meatballs with the help of a microwave, add ingredients to a stock pot, including noodles, and simmer until ingredients are tender. Soup will be served with rolls.
